Three-day-weekend, yes, but why do we celebrate this day? Veterans Day is a holiday that’s been celebrated ever since 1919. On November eleventh, Americans take a pause from their busy work schedule to remember the plethora of veterans who have sacrificed so much for what they believe in. Originally called Armistice Day, this holiday has expanded beyond soldiers of just World War I to everyone who has fought for the United States through times of both war and peace.
