KNIGHTS OF THE MONTH ARE SENIORS WHO ARE NOMINATED AND VOTED ON BY TEACHERS AND COUNSELORS AT LHHS.

Finally in double digits—there are a mere 84 days left until the seniors walk across that stage. With the big day approaching fast, the memories of the last four years start flooding back. Nonetheless, plans for after high school become more vivid as the future is coming soon.

One senior whose plans are set in stone is Karrsen Sprague-Wheeler. Being in the Fashion Institute of Design and Merchandise (FIDM) club all four years of high school, Sprague has decided to pursue fashion design after high school. She plans on attending FIDM Los Angeles next fall to acquire her degree in fashion design. Post college, she hopes to open her own business in the jean industry and from there plans to rocket into becoming a well-known fashion designer.

Even though her time left at LHHS is waning, she will always remember the teachers she had here since they will be what she misses most. One teacher in particular that she came to know and love is math teacher Ginger Balboni. “Mrs. Balboni always took care of me and made sure I had all my work done.” Likewise, Balboni said she always pushed her as hard as she could to accomplish her goals. Balboni explained that being there for Sprague the last four years has built a strong relationship between the two that neither of them will ever forget.

In her last few months at LHHS, Sprague hopes to receive excellent grades and stay on track to graduate. She encourages those entering high school to always show up with completed work to succeed in academics.

For senior Nicholas Anderson, the last four years consisted of numerous activities that consumed his time. He was a part of the Shining Stars Club and choir while also participating in the Special Olympics for basketball and football. Anderson received a medal from the Special Olympics and a certificate for choir. Aside from all these activities, what he will miss most about high school is delivering coffee on campus and singing in choir concerts.

With the time left in this school year, Anderson hopes to continue participating in after school sports activities since once high school is over, he will be preoccupied with other responsibilities. Post high school, he plans on working at Anderson Toyota with his biggest mentor in life, his father. Throughout his life, Anderson hopes to continue to always stay positive and keep a smile on his face through anything he may face in the adult world.

Even though these seniors are going in different directions, they both have goals they hope to achieve that wouldn’t have been possible without the key mentors that helped them get to where they are now.
